The Argenta Reading Series recently began accepting submissions for its 3rd annual high school, which will provide--thanks to support from the Laman Public Library of North Little Rock--a total of $2,500 to be used to attend an in-state college or university.
Last year, four works were chosen as finalists from more than 50 qualifying entries. The writers of those four pieces read their work in front of a live audience and a panel of judges, who ultimate selected "My Dream Space" by Cabot High School Senior Katelynn Nicole Tyner as the $1,000 winner.
This year's finalists will read March 30 at the Argenta United Methodist Church. Contestants must submit their work by February 28 via email. Complete rules for the writing contest can be found at ArgentaReadingSeries.com/writing-contest.
